INTERNATIONAL RALLY AT SEDALIA, MISSOURI 2012
NEWS FROM SEDALIA
Six trailers from the Louisiana unit are at the Sedalia site of International Rally #55. Last report we had was 461 registered for the rally. The aluminum trailers have done it again. We have attracted the sun and heat with temps in the high 90′s to low 100′s. This has been on of the better rallies we have attended. The grounds are more than adequate, with three point hookups. Wide spaces to park. We even had a tree for shade. The people are very friendly. Many stop to welcome you to their town and wish you well and hope for our return. Restaurants have good food with decent prices. Most offered a ten precent discount when you wore your badge. The rooms we held our activities in were very nice and cool. In fact the arena where sign up, airstream store, and night time activities were held was too cold for most. Great for the hot ones!
Region six luncheon was a great event. The room was good sized and cool. A delicious meal was catered by a local restaurant owned by the mayor of Sedalia and her husband. The mayor and her husband and staff also served us. A large crowd was on hand for the festivities. Each unit presidents drew a name for a door prize. Onedia “Ann” Park was the winner of the Louisiana $25.00 WalMart gift card.
Guests included Third VP Jim Schwerdfeger and Raison, Region 7 President Louise Humble and Jerry, Second VP John and Sandy Stumph, PIP Ewart Phillips and Miss Lillie. International President Barry Heckensweiler and First Lady Leslie stopped by to wish us well.
Soon, we will all be headed in different directions. Some for caravans, others for home. Let’s all get together for our joint election rally in September. See you then. Judy.
